Victoria Peak Hong Kong
Get your cameras out! Hong Kong's Victoria Peak is the photo op spot to visit on Hong Kong Island. This high landmark is visible throughout most parts of the island, and provides a great day trip. Begin your hike from Lugard Road, and work your way up to Harlech Road, which provides excellent views of the city and harbor. This walk will take about two hours. If you aren't up to the walk, there is a tram that also makes the trip many times daily. This two-car vehicle runs on a steel track up one of the steepest passenger gradients in the world.

Once hikers reach the top they will be greeted with one of the most astounding views imaginable. The city of Hong Kong sprawls out from under Victoria Peak for miles, and on a clear day the view reaches as far as China and Macau. While many visit Victoria Peak during the daylight hours, it also provides a beautiful view at night of the sparkling city lights.

The view isn't the only reason to visit Victoria Peak. There are many sights and activities to visit while at the top, so a generous afternoon or a whole day is ideal for visiting here. There are numerous forest trails make for a beautiful walk, with their hanging vines, bamboo, fern, pine trees and hibiscus. On the Northern peak, the amazing Zoological and Botanical Gardens can be visited. If you're hungry drop into the Peak Café to dine while you take in the staggering view. The Peak Tower is a popular attraction, which includes a Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum, as well as a cutting-edge computer generated ride called the Rise of the Dragon, which takes passengers through the area's history.
